/>Ken has been busy meeting with voters since the beginning of March. Walking in Eagle, Routt, Garfield and Moffat, Ken has been canvassing several hours each day handing out literature and most importantly talking and listening to voters in Senate District 8.

He finds the majority of people he meets in agreement with him on the important issues he emphasizes:

1. Working to protect our limited water supply for our towns, ranching and farming, recreation, and our economy.

2. Working to support ranching and farming, recreation uses and conservation of wildlife habitat. This is the foundation of our economy - past, present and future. The energy industry must pay its fair share of taxes, limit direct impacts on our communities, protect public health and the environment, and become a partner in Colorado's New Energy Economy.

3. Working to help Colorado improve its commitment to our kids. They deserve full day kindergarten, preschool, small classroom sizes, well-paid teachers, and vocational options. We can provide innovative education to make sure they have the skills needed to get jobs in our changing economy.

4. Working together to create quality, affordable and efficient health care for everyone in Colorado.

5. Working to develop Colorado as a global leader in renewable energy - helping to lower gas prices, create new jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Meeting and listening to the people he will serve is giving him the understanding necessary to make the changes that will benefit North Western Colorado.

<img width='1' height='1' Craig. As it started off raining we all just smiled and laughed. Many people gathered to watch the excitement.

Mr. Ken Brenner inspired me as he greeted the people along Main Street. He showed that he was a part of the community who wanted to make a difference. He also showed involvement in people's opinions.

<br Gov. Barbara O'Brien threw her political weight behind the campaign of Steamboat Springs Democrat Ken Brenner this weekend by nominating him for the State Senate and then joining his campaign.

O'Brien wrote a letter to the state Democratic Party Convention nominating Brenner as the official party candidate for State Senate District 8, which includes Eagle, Garfield, Routt, Jackson, Rio Blanco and Moffat counties. O'Brien was unable to attend the convention herself, so the letter was read to party delegates by Eagle County Commissioner Peter Runyon.

O'Brien, also agreed this weekend to join Brenner's campaign as Honorary Chairwoman, adding extensive experience in fundraising and campaigning to the Steamboat Springs' Democrat's campaign.

"Ken," the letter of nomination read, "because you are a man of integrity, because you are someone who has demonstrated your commitment to the citizens of this state as a public servant and because you are an individual who will stand up for what is right for people of you district, I am proud to nominate you."

O'Brien, who made her mark in statewide politics working for students and schools, noted that she, Brener and Gov. "I cannot imagine a better person to serve the citizens of Senate District 8 at the Capital."

As Honorary Chair of Brenner's campaign, O'Brien will be available to advise Brenner on the ins and outs of campaigning on a regional level and to help with fundraising. She will not be involved in the day-to-day operations and decision-making.

Eagle County Commissioner Peter Runyon, Garfield County Commissioner Tresi Houpt and Steve Ivancie of Steamboat Springs City Council also spoke before Ken gave his speech.

Ken at Cinco de Mayo Event - Edwards, CO

On Saturday, May 3rd, Ken attended the Cinco de Mayo event in Edwards! A very festive celebration with lively music and dancing, Ken enjoyed meeting people and building support for his campaign for Colorado State Senate District 8.

Several other Democratic candidates were also in attendance. Pictured below with Diane Dike, author and speaker holding her service dog Gracie, are (from left to right): Peter Runyon (D) up for re-election, District 1, Eagle County Commission; Jon Stavney (D) running for District 2 Eagle County Commission; and Ken
